Microsoft’s Frontier Firm playbook gives you the method. We give you the people who have already built the platform, the agents and the guardrails for Australian organisations. Start with a half-day Readiness Workshop and leave with a plan your board can fund.
Level 1, human with assistant. Our Copilot Adoption Program gets personas, managers and measurement right so licences turn into value. Copilot Adoption Program
Levels 2 and 3, human-agent teams then agent-operated processes. Agile Agents redesigns the process first, then runs it on Azure AI Foundry with controls an auditor can test. Agile Agents
A shared, governed source of truth with observability built in. Fabric Foundation turns a blank tenant into a governed platform your team runs from day one. Fabric Foundation
Employee experience, customer engagement, reshaped processes, faster innovation. The Readiness Workshop picks which one you move first and attaches a number to it. Book a Readiness Workshop
From Becoming a Frontier Firm, second edition, July 2026. Efficiency is the floor. Employee experience, customer engagement, reshaped processes and faster innovation are the ceiling. Under each element, what we actually do about it.
Name the outcomes AI has to move, with numbers, before anyone buys a licence.
Move from a few pilots to repeatable adoption across teams and processes.
Managers role model, teams learn, do and teach, and roles are redesigned around agents.
Your data, your rules and your decisions become the thing agents run on.
Controls that are tested, not assumed. Human review that cannot be talked around.
Redrawn from Becoming a Frontier Firm, second edition. Left to right: what to aim at, how to get there, how to measure it.
Four outcomes. Efficiency sits underneath all of them.
Time back, better work, higher engagement
Faster, more personal, always on
Fewer handoffs, agents own the steps
New products, new ways to serve
Microsoft's recipe on the left, our engagement on the right.
Copilot for every role, in the flow of work
with training led by Jason
Lean the process, then add agents
POC in two weeks on Azure AI Foundry
New services built on governed data
the AI-ready data estate underneath
Report all four, in this order, every quarter.
Licences deployed, agents live, people trained
Active use, prompts, agent runs, adoption depth
Hours returned, cycle time cut, error rate down
Revenue, cost, satisfaction, risk. The number the board asked for
Frameworks are Microsoft’s, redrawn here in our own words. Read the original: Becoming a Frontier Firm, second edition (PDF).
Microsoft describes the journey in three levels. Most Australian organisations we assess are somewhere in Level 1 with a Level 2 ambition and Level 0 data. Choose the level that describes you today.
Copilot is licensed. Some people use it well, most use it a little. Value is anecdotal and nobody owns the number.
Agents run steps of real processes with people directing them. A few are in production, more are stuck in pilot.
Whole processes run on agents with humans setting direction and reviewing exceptions. Governance is tested on a schedule.
The gap between a licence and a result is people and data. Fix adoption first so Copilot earns its keep, and stand up a governed data platform so the first agent has something trustworthy to run on.
Each maps to a part of Microsoft’s Frontier loop: people, process and the data underneath both. Each is delivered by the practice that owns it, fronted by the people who do the work.
Set the ambition, put guardrails around it, and move your people to Level 1 with adoption that sticks.
Led by Gethryn Ghavalas, AI Strategy and Governance. Training content led by Jason.
An enterprise agentic AI platform on Azure AI Foundry. Redesign the process first, then run it as a human-agent team.
Delivered by the Data and AI practice, Kadu Anastacio.
The metadata-driven framework that turns a blank Microsoft Fabric tenant into a governed platform your team runs from day one.
Delivered by the Data and AI practice. Live at Cancer Council NSW, DPHI and NSW councils.
Every step is scoped and priced on its own. You can stop after any of them and still own everything that was built.
Your leadership team, our governance lead. Scored against the five elements and three levels. You leave with a one-page roadmap, a guardrail set and a data readiness view.
Fabric Foundation makes the data AI ready. The Copilot Adoption Program makes the people ready. Usually both, sometimes one first.
One process redesigned and running on Agile Agents, grounded in your governed data, with controls an auditor can test.
Documentation, knowledge transfer and a support window so your team runs it. The use-case flywheel turns again with every new opportunity.
The Frontier Firm Readiness Workshop is a working session, not a presentation. Your leadership team, our governance lead, and the five elements scored honestly against where you are today.
45 min
Which of the four outcomes should AI move first, and what number would prove it. The Success Framework applied to your strategy, not a generic one.
Output: one outcome, one number, one owner
60 min
Score elements D and E. Which AI controls exist, which have been tested, who owns each agent. First pass at the automated decision-making inventory for 10 December 2026.
Output: guardrail set and a control gap list
60 min
What an agent could trust today and what it could not. Where Copilot has landed and where it has stalled. Your current level, one to three, agreed in the room.
Output: data readiness view and your level
45 min
The two moves that matter for the next six months, sequenced the way the playbook recommends, with funding paths that may apply.
Output: one-page roadmap your board can fund

They didn’t just deliver what was asked. They took the time to understand what we needed and made sure the platform was set up in a way that was sustainable, well-governed, and easy for others to build on down the track.

Microsoft’s term for an organisation where every employee is assisted by AI, workflows are run by human-agent teams, and decisions are grounded in governed data. The second edition of Becoming a Frontier Firm (July 2026) sets out five elements and three levels of maturity. This page maps our services to that method.
You need a Microsoft 365 or Azure tenant. Most Australian organisations we work with already have Copilot licences and some Power BI or Synapse estate; the workshop starts from what you have.
Half a day. The executive sponsor, the CIO or head of data, the owner of the process you most want to change, and whoever owns risk or compliance. We send a one-page pre-read a week before.
Yes, if you already have a governed data source the agents can trust. If you do not, we recommend the foundation first; agents grounded in ungoverned data are how pilots fail in production.
Microsoft partner funding may offset part of the cost of eligible assessments, proofs of value and implementations. It is subject to eligibility and Microsoft approval, and we manage the application on your behalf.
From 10 December 2026, organisations covered by the Privacy Act that use personal information in substantially automated decisions must describe those decisions in their privacy policy. Finding the systems in scope takes longer than writing the paragraph. The workshop includes a first pass at that inventory.
