What is holding you back
Fragmented data is now an AI problem, not just a reporting problem.
Every organisation we meet wants Copilot, agents and predictive models. Very few have the governed, well modelled data those things need. The symptoms are familiar.
Six systems, six versions of the truth
Data sits in ERP, CRM, finance, spatial and line of business systems with no shared definitions. Every meeting starts with whose number is right.
Reports take weeks, not hours
Business teams queue for engineering. Engineering is stuck maintaining legacy SQL, Synapse or on-premises warehouses that were never designed for self-service.
Costs keep climbing
Legacy licences, duplicated pipelines, hardware refresh cycles and unmanaged cloud spend. Consolidation is the fastest lever most organisations have not pulled.
AI pilots that never reach production
Without lineage, quality and access controls, every AI initiative becomes an isolated experiment. Trust is the constraint, not the model.
Three ways in. One platform.
We meet your estate where it is today. Every path lands on Fabric.
Aligned to Microsoft’s Unify Your Data programme, we start from the workload that is costing you most and consolidate from there. You do not need a big bang transformation to begin.
Entry 1
From legacy databases and warehouses
SQL Server 2012 to 2022, Oracle, on-premises warehouses and end of support estates. Modernise the database, remove the hardware refresh, then build analytics on Fabric.
- Azure SQL Managed Instance and Azure SQL Database
- Azure Hybrid Benefit and reserved capacity modelled up front
- Mirroring into OneLake with no ETL rewrite
Lands on: Fabric Warehouse and Lakehouse, Power BI
Entry 2
From Synapse, Tableau or a sprawling Power BI estate
You already have analytics. It is expensive, fragmented or hard to govern. We migrate workloads into Fabric with proven accelerators and consolidate reporting onto governed semantic models.
- Synapse to Fabric migration with automated assessment
- Tableau to Power BI migration, AI assisted
- Power BI tenant governance and capacity optimisation
Entry 3
From source systems, greenfield
No warehouse to speak of, or one you would rather not keep. We design the target architecture, stand up OneLake and deliver the first data products in the first phase.
- Data domain strategy and medallion design
- TechnologyOne, Dynamics 365, SAP, ESRI and API ingestion patterns
- Real-Time Intelligence for event and telemetry data
What we build
The reference architecture we deploy in production.
Not a slide. This is the platform shape we have delivered repeatedly across government and regulated industries, with governance as a rail under every layer rather than a phase at the end.
What we build
OneLake
Serving
Consumption
- GOVERNANCE RAIL
- Microsoft Purview catalogue, lineage and data quality
- Workspace, row, column and object level security
- CI/CD with Git and deployment pipelines
- Capacity monitoring and cost observability
Every engagement is tailored, but the layers do not change. That consistency is what lets us compress delivery and keep platforms healthy years after go-live.
How we deliver
A capability programme, not a one-off build.
We align leaders on the target, prove value early, then scale across domains with standards that hold. The sequence matters, which is why it is numbered.
- 3 to 4 weeks
From legacy databases and warehouses
Current state, target architecture and a prioritised roadmap that survives contact with budget cycles.
- Workload discovery and TCO modelling
- OneLake, domain and security design
- Governance operating model with Purview
- Business case and funding pathway
- 8 to 12 weeks
Build the foundation and first data products
The platform foundation goes live with the first governed data products and reports the business is waiting on.
- Fabric capacity, workspaces and CI/CD
- Medallion lakehouse and ingestion patterns
- Certified semantic models and Power BI
- Security, lineage and quality wired in
- Ongoing
Scale, self-serve, sustain
New domains onboard quickly against the same standards. Business teams self-serve safely. The platform stays healthy.
- Domain onboarding playbooks
- Self-service enablement and training
- AI enablement on Azure AI Foundry
- Managed service or centre of excellence

Frequently asked questions
Straight answers on Fabric and modern data platforms.
What is a modern data platform, and why do we need one?
A modern data platform is a unified, governed foundation for data engineering, analytics and AI. It replaces fragmented systems, inconsistent definitions and manual reporting with a reusable architecture that delivers trusted insight faster and supports Copilot, agents and predictive models on the same data.
Where does Microsoft Fabric fit?
Fabric brings data integration, engineering, warehousing, real-time analytics, data science and Power BI into one SaaS platform built on OneLake. Instead of stitching together separate services, you get one experience from ingestion to consumption, with Purview governance across the whole estate.
We already run Synapse, Databricks or an on-premises warehouse. Do we have to start again?
No. We assess what you have and migrate what should move. Synapse workloads convert well to Fabric with our migration accelerator. Databricks can coexist with Fabric through OneLake shortcuts and mirroring, and we are a Databricks partner too. Legacy SQL estates typically modernise to Azure SQL Managed Instance first, then feed Fabric.
How long until something is in production?
A Modern Data Platform Assessment and Roadmap takes three to four weeks. The platform foundation with the first governed data products and reports is typically live eight to twelve weeks after that, using Agile Fabric Foundation. Additional domains onboard faster once the standards are in place.
How do you keep Fabric costs under control?
Capacity is sized from real workload analysis, not guesswork. We design for Direct Lake to avoid duplicated storage, right-size compute, and deploy Fabric Insights so you see usage, capacity and cost across the tenant with alerts before overruns happen.
How do you deliver governance without slowing teams down?
Governance is built into the platform on day one. Purview cataloguing, lineage and data quality, combined with Fabric workspace, row, column and object level security, create guardrails that let business teams self-serve safely rather than wait for central approval.
What makes the platform AI ready?
AI needs well modelled, governed data with clear lineage and access control. We design semantic models and gold data products that Copilot, Copilot Studio agents and Azure AI Foundry can be grounded on with confidence, so AI moves from isolated experiments to a sustainable capability.
Is Microsoft funding available?
It may be. Microsoft runs partner programmes that can support assessments, pilots and migrations. Subject to eligibility and Microsoft approval, we manage the application and confirm what applies to your organisation during the first conversation.
How do we get started if we are unsure of our current state?
Start with the Modern Data Platform Assessment and Roadmap. In three to four weeks you get a clear picture of your estate, a target architecture, a governance model and a prioritised, costed roadmap that aligns stakeholders and can be taken to a funding conversation.
